USER SERVICES Web Operations - Privacy Policy Every web site should have a privacy policy that conforms to all legal requirements for the management of user data, and that protects the privacy and security of data about the individual. Any use that will be made of the data beyond that required for acquisition of assistive technology or related services should be disclosed in the privacy policy. The privacy policy should be displayed prominently for the user to access. The privacy policy should cover the elements of the Fair Information Practice Principles [see Resource Link to FTC site.] These include: The identify of the organization collecting the information What personally identificable information is collected How the organization uses the information With whom the organization may share the information What steps are taken to protect the information Choices available to users about the collection, use and dissemination of the information See the attached document for an example of a privacy policy.
